Library

We are open five days a week from 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM. 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM, Monday through Thursday is reserved for the Elementary School. At other times, the library operates on an open and flexible schedule. This means that any individual or group may use the library at any time during the day.

Individual students are encouraged to use the library throughout the day to complete class assignments, do research, check out books, read for recreational purposes or use the computers including wordprocessing.

Materials are checked out for a period of two weeks (K-5 and Grade 1:1 week) and may be renewed after the due date if no one else is waiting for the items. A fine of $.25 per day per book including weekends will be charged for late materials.
Students will not be permitted to take semester exams or receive report cards or transcripts until library materials are returned and all library fines paid. Elementary/ Middle School fines are added to parent's account each quarter. However, report cards will be held if a book is not returned. High school fines are added to the student's accounts the 1st and 3rd quarters, however, 2nd and 4th quarters must be cleared in order to take final exams.The last student whose name appears on the computer is responsible for the book. Students will be assessed a fee for books returned in a damaged condition. Books more than two weeks overdue are considered lost and replacement cost will be charged to the student. Responsiblity and discipline checks will be given in the library. Excessive checks in a nine week period will keep a student from attending the merit trip.The library is for the use of the students, faculty, and parents of MCS.
