HIGH SCHOOL PRAYER CLUB
DAANS STAR STUDENTS
CHAMBER INVOLVEMENT
This month Ms. Russell and Mr. Mack started the high school prayer club. Students meet in front of the gym once a month before school in the morning for prayer. Two meetings are held during club time each month where students are taught how to pray for each others and themselves and how to share the Gospel. Already 16 students have signed up for the club.
At this year’s Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Education Breakfast, MCS students were chosen to participate. Samantha Lola gave a greeting in Spanish, Jannelle Hernandez and Anakrystine Vallin sang the Star Spangled Banner, and Christopher Gonzalez gave a speech on how Business and Education can work hand-in-hand.
The mayor of Coral Gables appreciated the vocal performance of the National Anthem and invited Anakrystine and Jannelle to open a City Commission meeting with their rendition, after which the girls, their parents and Ms. Rivera were invited to the dais to have their picture taken with the mayor and all the city commissioners.
Congratulations to Christopher Gonzalez, Andrea Garcia, and Danny Rocio who have been chosen as this year’s DAANS Star students and who will attend a luncheon next month to receive awards for their achievements.
